Starting with its famous singing tone, the Amati Violin establishes an incredible level of realism by using the Sound Magic Award-Winning NEO Hybrid Modeling Technology. For years, the Amati Violin has been regarded as one of the best sounding violins in the world. Even though they were built by Niccolò Amati way back in the 17th century, these Violins are still often considered the best instruments for modern playing. The Amati Violin we sampled is a violin built in 1662 and is in excellent condition. To ensure the highest sound quality possible, we used top-of-the-line gear such as Brauner Microphones and Neve preamps.

The NEO Hybrid Modeling Engine offers you the best from both the sampling and modeling worlds! The Authentic Sound of Sampling combined with the playability of a Modeled Violin makes for a violin experience that you have to try to believe! No steep hardware requirements! The Amati Violin takes only 240MB disk space and also saves your CPU usage. The NEO Hybrid Modeling Engine gives you absolute control over every aspect of a violin - you can even design your own violin! There are nearly 20 controls waiting for you to tweak! Some of you (you know who you are!) just HAVE to dial up the legato and velocity, mess with the dynamic response, even control the timbre differences between different situations. Not a tweaker? Right out of the box, there are 16 preset modules to choose from letting you jump into your choice of violins right now!

Unlike static samples, modeling technology really brings the Amati Violin to life! And more importantly, the Amati Violin focuses on the continuous flow of melody, not on just a single note. For example, you can progressively transform a sustained note by first adding slow vibrato, then medium vibrato and finally fast vibrato. While doing this, you could also use the expression controller to change from crescendo to decrescendo. This sort of control is just about impossible to achieve with sampled strings.

The Amati Violin is very easy to use. You can play all the techniques on the fly with a MIDI keyboard. All this expressive control can be done by using key switches and controllers so a keyboard player can easily and freely play our Amati Violin without any difficulty.
